Contract Music Therapist

Job description:

Earthtones Music Therapy & Holistic Wellness is looking for a Music Therapist (MTA) to join the team, taking on jobs within the GTA as they arise. We are working in Elder Care, Individuals with Physical Impairment/Cognitive Delay, with New Canadians and Unhoused individuals. There are currently several positions that need to be filled in various facilities and for weekly/biweekly contract work.

We believe in a humanistic and client-centred approach facilitated by a combination of mindfulness, psychotherapy-based techniques and great musical skills to spread joy and healing through Music!

Seeking an individual who embodies these principles:

 

• Certified Music Therapist (MTA) with the Canadian Association of Music Therapists (CAMT) in good standing or in progress
• RP or RP (Q) is an asset 
• Experience and passion for working with older adults and in senior care settings
• Meets the musical and clinical competencies recommended by the Canadian Association of Music Therapists
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Creative and adaptive clinical skills
• Strong musical skills and willingness to learn, adapt and improvise sessions (musically and organizationally)
• Have their own instruments 
• Provide proof of COVID-19 vaccine
• Vehicle may be necessary for some jobs

 

Additional info:

 

• Develop, implement, coordinate, and evaluate music therapy programs in retirement homes, long term care, and/or disability services
• Maintain an active clinical caseload providing assessment, treatment, documentation, and education
• Maintain professionalism, including abiding by all PPE regulations
