Miya Creative Care is looking for a part-time music therapist (5-10 hours/week) in Oakville to begin immediately. This independent contractor will be working with different populations, with a focus on senior care, and will have opportunities for growth.
Candidate Requirements:
- Certified Music Therapist (MTA) with the Canadian Association of Music Therapists (CAMT) in good standing or in progress
- Experience and passion for working with older adults and in senior care settings
- Meets the musical and clinical competencies recommended by the Canadian Association of Music Therapists
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Creative and adaptive clinical skills
- Possess own instruments, including a guitar and a variety of rhythm instruments
- Be independent, organized, and enthusiastic about working as part of a team
- Must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccine
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, coordinate, and evaluate music therapy programs
- Maintain an active clinical caseload providing assessment, treatment, documentation, and education
- Maintain professionalism, including abiding by all PPE regulations
- Attend monthly team meetings
