Job qualifications: Summary of qualifications: You must have: A Bachelor's in Music Therapy (and completed your internship). Be an Accredited Music Therapist (MTA). Be a Registered Psychotherapist in Ontario (CRPO registration). Be a current member of the Canadian Association for Music Therapy (CAMT). You’re preferred if you: Have worked with elderly, dementia, or behavioural support patients. Have strong musical and interpersonal skills. Understand and use Person-Centered Care principles (tailoring care to each person’s unique needs, preferences, and history).
Job description:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Music Therapist to join our team and deliver meaningful, client-centered music therapy services to both children with neurodevelopmental and emotional regulation needs (including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Asperger’s, and anger management challenges) and older adults, including retired and senior clients.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating music therapy sessions that support emotional expression, social connection, self-regulation, memory, and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual and/or group music therapy sessions to:
Children and youth with autism, Asperger’s, ADHD, and emotional/behavioural challenges
Older adults experiencing isolation, depression, memory issues, or cognitive decline
Use music intentionally to address emotional, behavioural, cognitive, and social goals
Maintain client documentation and progress notes
Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other staff as part of a holistic support approach
Participate in staff meetings and interdisciplinary discussions as required
Contribute to community engagement through occasional events or workshops
