Job description:
Synergy Music Therapy & Wellness Services is seeking a passionate, organized, and dedicated Music Therapist to join our YGK: Kingston and Area team. This is a part time independent contractor music therapy position with anticipation of growth to Full Time (to be collaboratively discussed).
Job Title: Music Therapist (Sub-Contractor)
Company mandate/vision:
Synergy Music Therapy & Wellness provides quality music therapy services, wellness resources, and professional development opportunities for music therapists, interdisciplinary professionals and community members. Synergy operates on 5 core pillars: Accessibility, Advocacy, Building Collaborative Relationships, Improving Clinical Standardization, and Self-Exploration.
Sub-Contractor position details/expectations:
– Direct client work, documentation and communication with POAs
– Services will be provided in a variety of settings dependant on the caseload and may include virtual therapy,
– Maintaining company values and mandates,
– Operating within the CAMT Code of Ethics,
– Invoicing Synergy MT for hours of service (monthly),
– Maintaining updated records of clients in your caseload and maintaining good communication with location managers as changes arise,
– Outreach work on a commission basis (one-time bonus to be discussed upon hire), – Working independently and collaboratively with Synergy MT management and team members.
Qualifications
– Certified Music Therapist(MTA) and member in good standing with the Canadian Association of Music Therapists,
– Residing within the greater Kingston area for direct client work within Kingston and surrounding regions,
– Strong interpersonal, time management & communication skills,
– Valid G license and access to a vehicle or consistent transportation within Kingston as well as to nearby cities (45min-60min drive),
– Subcontractors will be required to provide Synergy MT with a vulnerable sector police check and proof of covid-19 vaccination prior to hiring.
Assets
– 1+ years of clinical experience as an MTA/MT-BC,
– Additional trainings and certifications are an asset but not required (ie. NMT, RP, CBT, etc.),
– Experience using gmail/google drive,
– Bilingualism.

Commitment & Compensation
– This part-time position involves opportunity for collaboration, growth of clinical caseload, and the development of future professional responsibilities within Synergy MT,
– Flexible hours to be determined in collaboration with Synergy MT management,
– Compensation range $70.00-$100.00/hour. Exact compensation will depend on session structures and locations (group or individual, facility or private). Subcontractors will be provided with all necessary details upon hire,
– Opportunity to facilitate additional wellness programming and Synergy specialty projects/programs (Creative Power Hours, Sing It Girls, Wellness Consultations, etc.). Compensation will vary and will be discussed prior to commencement of additional projects or contracts,
– Contract will run through to December 31st 2025 with the opportunity to renew for a 1 or 2 year contract.
Important Note:
– For interested applicants who would be relocating for this role, upon hire, the Synergy MT Kingston team will be available to provide support in finding housing prior to the start of the position.
