Overview:
Julia’s Place Therapy Centre is seeking an accomplished certified music therapist with proven leadership skills and clinical supervision experience to join our team as a senior music therapist and clinic lead. Our programs take place at our fully-stocked clinic located at the north end of Brampton, online, and/or within the Dufferin and GTA communities. Our clients are diverse in culture and ability, and our therapists have the training, sensitivity, and experience to meet their wide-ranging needs. Our clinic is designed to provide clients with a fun and safe place to learn and grow. When visiting our clinic, all clients are provided access to a sensory room, sensory gardens, an outdoor park, swings, and an enclosed area with farm animals.
The successful candidate will have excellent problem solving skills and be able to excel as a leader within a team. As the clinic lead, they must have strong clinical skills, including writing and editing skills and be able to provide effective and relevant feedback to other therapist. The ideal candidate is organized, approachable, and reliable and has experience working with a variety of diagnosis and settings. This engaging role includes supervising other therapists and team members, providing music therapy sessions, and program evaluation and development. The senior music therapist must display professionalism and follow the CAMT Code of Ethics at all times. All team members at Julia’s Place are expected to relate to their clients in a positive manner, recognizing and utilizing the unique abilities of each individual.

Specific Responsibilities
Duties and responsibility include:
- Maintain timely communication with Julia’s Place staff and clients
- Answer emails and phone calls as needed
- Participate in weekly team meetings
- Oversee staff and supervise clinical programs
- Evaluate programs to ensure clients are receiving high quality services
- Organize and evaluate caseloads of therapists
- Review reports and documentation of team members to ensure consistent quality
- Ensure staff and programs adhered to Julia’s Place policies and procedures and comply with relevant regulations
- Liaison with caregivers and clients as needed
- Provide music therapy sessions, assessments and other music programs.
- Conduct music therapy assessments and mental health assessments (in collaboration with the social worker)
- Develop treatment plans and evaluate the execution of them
- Conduct music therapy sessions and other programs as scheduled
- Develop new programs and complete other administration tasks
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Music Therapy
- CAMT member in good standing with MTA status
- Valid Neurologic Music Therapy training or plans for its completion
- CAMT Supervision Course Level 1 (preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years related clinical experience
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of evidence-based practice
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and work effectively within a team
- Demonstrated ability to manage a large/diversified workload with rapidly changing priorities and deadlines
- Superior interpersonal and leadership skills including but not limited to; critical thinking, communication, responsiveness, conflict resolution, visionary thinking, organizational skills, effective customer service, decision-making skills and problem solving
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing education in music therapy and healthcare

- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
- Valid CPR and Standard First Aid (C) certificate

Working Conditions:
- Lifting and transportation of instruments.
- May be required to provide hand-over-hand assistance to clients
- Some clients may have unpredictable behaviours
- Driving to the clinic in Brampton and different locations in the surrounding area may be required (paid driving time)
