Job description:

-JOIN OUR TEAM-

We looking for an energetic and innovative Certified Music Therapist (MTA) to join our team for in-person sessions at various Long Term Care facilities around Guelph and North Wellington. We are looking for a therapist who has demonstrated experience and a keen interest in working with people living with dementia, who have an affirming and person centered approach, and who is confident at independently developing new programs for older adults in care organizations.

Sub-contracted employees have complete control over their schedule, but should be open to flexible hours, including some evenings and Saturdays.

Successful candidate must:
*Be a member in good standing with the Canadian Association for Music Therapists (CAMT)

*BONUS would be to be a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO)

*Have a valid TB test and Vulnerable Sector Police Check

*Be confident and self monitored with regards to scheduling, documentation, and client communication

*Be self motivated, organized and feel confident creating interpersonal and therapeutic relationships

*Candidates selected for an interview will be required to submit a video demonstrating strong musical skills in voice, piano and guitar, and demonstrate at least two music therapy activities / interventions that showcase appropriate goals for working with older adults on a variety of goal areas.

Start date is ASAP.

Responsibilities and Duties
*Facilitate 1:1 music therapy sessions in person at our partnership organizations across Guelph and North Wellington. Potential to add additional contracts available.
*Keep organized and complete documentation, including informed consent, assessments, progress notes and evaluations. Familiarity with Point Click Care a bonus.
*Must have access to a guitar and music playing software / a computer or tablet – all other instruments will be provided on-site
