Job description:
The Music Therapist is responsible to provide client and family-centred therapy services to children and adolescents and their families eligible for outpatient services.

Schedule: Must be available to work on Tuesday during after-school/evening hours and Saturdays. There are no minimum hours. Caseload is dependent on registration.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides music therapy to Holland Bloorview fee-for-service clients
- Provides music therapy assessment, intervention, evaluation, which is client and family-centred, goal directed, evidence-based and outcome focused
- Focus approach on established best practices
- Adherence to documentation as per Holland Bloorview documentation standards and policies
- Attends and participates in staff meetings and special events
- Participates in quality management activities and supports the maintenance of a safe and healthy work environment
- Identifies learning needs and establishes goals
- Provides student supervision
- Volunteer supervision as required
- Participates in research activities as applicable
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Master of Music Therapy preferred
- Certification and member in good standing with the CAMT (Canadian Association for Music Therapy)
- Registration and member in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with practical music therapy preferred
- Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in paediatrics preferred
- Knowledge and application of music therapy theory and music education pedagogy to children and youth with disabilities and developmental differences
- Knowledge of a wide variety of music therapy techniques
- Experience in behaviour management preferred
- Reliable, punctual, regular attendance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- CAMT and CRPO-approved supervisor preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manage a diverse workload while setting priorities and meeting deadlines
- Ability to operate independently as well as in consultation and collaboration with other professionals within a multidisciplinary team
